‘And whatever you do, whether in word or in deed, do it in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.’
A funeral marks the end of a person’s life on earth.
Family and friends come together to express grief, give thanks for the life lived and to commend the person into God’s keeping.
Everyone who lives in the parish is entitled to a burial service or to have their ashes buried in the churchyard whether they went to church or not. You will probably want to contact a local funeral director who may make the practical arrangements with the Vicar. She will then arrange to come and talk to you about what you would like for the service either in church or at the crematorium.
The Lord is near to the broken-hearted,
and saves the crushed in spirit.
